Screen Printing Cool T-shirts

A t-shirt is a fashion statement which brings out a person’s personality. You can get a variety of prints suitable for each and every occasion, whether it is Christmas, Halloween, election time or any other. Then you have theme t-shirts that are used for teams of for corporate employees. As the demand for custom-made t-shirts has increased, you will find that the t-shirt screen printing business is booming. A lot of people like to have cool t-shirts with their own designs and slogans printed on them using screen printing.

The procedure of t-shirt screen printing comprises of several steps. First and foremost the design to be imprinted on the cotton t-shirt has to be chosen. Next the design has to be imprinted on the screen. The screen is then positioned on the t-shirt and paint is passed through the screen and on to the fabric of the t-shirt. There are different ways of creating the screen used in the process of screen printing, each of which has its own advantages or disadvantages.

The print that you select for your cool t-shirt should be striking and attractive. It might be artistic, bold or witty depending on what occasion you will be donning the t-shirt. If you have a few plain t-shirts in your wardrobe, then you might want to make use of a good personal screen printing kit. This helps the person to be artistically creative and make the t-shirt his or her canvas to unleash inner artistic talent.

As the demand for custom-made t-shirts is increasing manifold, more and more companies are getting into the business of t-shirt screen printing. This enables customers to have their choice in designs on their t-shirts. However, do keep in mind that when you order in bulk, t-shirts made using screen printing get cheaper since it is not very profitable to print just one piece. A lot of time, money and effort is involved in making the screen and so making use of it just once can be a real waste.

Today, you find more and more people trying their hand at t-shirt screen printing and moreover it adds to their joy of having created their own masterpiece. Besides, these t-shirts made using screen printing make the owner’s wardrobe very unique and bring out his or her personality. Regardless of whether the screen printing is done by individuals at home or people who take it up as a profession, these t-shirts are the ideal way of giving a personal touch to anybody’s garments.

With the introduction of heat transfer patterns, digital printing directly on garments and the continuously enhanced capability to print digitally onto t-shirts which are dark colored, you would think that the process of screen printing done by hand would no longer be in use. Even though you might find that digital printing is a great and economical way to use for small numbers of t-shorts with lots of color in the design, t-shirt screen printing is definitely much cheaper for larger quantities.

How to find out how much money government is printing?

I just heard on NPR that Federal Reserve in order to facilitate lending started printing a lot of money since September. And by now printed over a trillion of dollars.

They names this "quantitative easing". I found the definition of this term online: quantitative easing: printing money like mad to ward off deflation.

Are there web sites showing how much money government prints?

It sounds insane to me printing money in the current economy.

For now non cause we are borrowing, and that is a joke cause no one can collect. Germany is $4 trillion dollars in debt to us from World War II, France is $2.5 trillion in debt to us, and Britain is $15 trillion in debt to us. The United States owns about $160 trillion dollars in assets around the world, and our inflation rate at a record low. With or current inflation rate we could print up to 2 and 1/2 times our GDP with no fall out.

Tips on Spending Less on Printing While Getting Better Results

Whether for personal use or for business, the cost of printing documents can amount to a huge expense. Brand new ink and toner cartridges are very expensive. When looking to cut costs, there are a number things you can do to reduce printing expenses without having to lower the quality of the printed document.

Below are a number of tips on how to spend less on printing while getting better results:

1. Purchasing ink or toner cartridges as well as printing paper in bulk can result in substantial savings. There are many manufacturers and wholesale suppliers that sell bulk office items such as ink and paper at a much lower cost than if you were to buy each individually. You should also consider purchasing the much less expensive generic ink or toner. This is especially helpful when printing documents that do not require high quality printing output because sometimes the quality may not be as good as brand name ink and toner.

2. If you print a large volume of documents and use a laser printer, look for what is known as high yield toner cartridges. These cartridges have an increased longevity as they produce more documents such as 5000 documents (depending on what type of cartridge you buy.) The quality of the print is also excellent. Often the higher yield you buy, the less per page it costs to print. For example, monochrome laser printers are quick and cheaper and they produce quality documents for only a few pennies for each page.

3. If you require a printer for a small volume of documents such as less than 250 pages, consider doing your printing in-house instead of contracting it out to a printing company. This will save you a lot of money. Make sure you have a quality brand name printer for the printing job.

4. For text documents that do not have any graphics, use draft-quality printing. You just have to set the printer’s driver-settings dialog box to draft mode and you will conserve ink. However, the quality may not be the best. Also, turn off the color ink when you do not need it.

5. If you want to save on printing paper, you can print on both sides of the page. Only use the high quality professional paper for important documents. The cheaper paper can be used for printing documents where a professional appearance is not required. For instance, printing off research documents or memos to staff.

6. Proofreading before you print will cut down on wasted ink and paper. You will save money by not printing the same document again because of errors you found after printing.

7. Ask for discounts from your printing provider. If you print a high volume of documents on a weekly or monthly basis, a good printing provider will offer discounts in order to keep your business.

During difficult economic times, everyone is looking for ways to tighten their budgets. Adopting practical ink and toner conservation practices will ensure that you are making the most out of your ink or toner without affecting the quality of the printed document.

T-shirt Screen Printing is Effective & Lasts Longer

T-shirt screen printing seems to be the latest craze. Everyone from kids to grandparents are making t-shirts with their favorite picture, logo, slogan, and more via t-shirt screen printing. So, why has there been such a boom in t-shirt screen printing? Obviously, the idea of owning a t-shirt that nobody else owns has its appeal, but it’s the variety of benefits t-shirt screen printing upholds, over other ways to create shirts, that is really driving the market. The Shirt Printer is one company that keeps up with industry innovations and improvements to deliver high quality products at a competitive price.

The popularity of t-shirt screen printing has risen fast due to its low cost to consumers. T-shirt screen printing techniques continue to advance, and thus is more economical compared to other methods such as iron on tee shirt printing, airbrush, or even fabric markers. The composition of the actual screens also provides the benefit of maintaining quality when it comes to printing a large quantity of apparel. As a result, every individual shirt out of a large quantity is more likely to look the same, as opposed to other manual methods of printing where it’s largely done by eye. T-shirt screen printing also allows for the use of more vibrant colors which can be more easily customized. Also, t-shirt screen printing lasts much longer than other methods of creating t-shirts, especially when high quality materials are used; thus, t-shirt screen printing clearly outlasts the competition.

T-shirt screen printing is certainly the new low cost way to wear custom apparel, and it continues to become more popular throughout the consumer market. T-shirt screen printing uses a variety of complex techniques, and an experienced company should be used to create quality t-shirt screen printing.

The History of Screen Printing

Screen-printing first appeared in a recognizable form in China during the Song Dynasty (960–1279 CE). Japan and other Asian countries adopted this method of printing and advanced the craft using it in conjunction with block printing and paints.

Screen-printing was introduced to Western Europe from Asia sometime in the late 1700s, but did not gain large acceptance or use in Europe until silk mesh was more available for trade from the east and a profitable outlet for the medium discovered.

Screen-printing was first patented in England by Samuel Simon in 1907. It was originally used as a popular method to print expensive wall paper, printed on linen, silk, and other fine fabrics. Western screen printers developed reclusive, defensive and exclusionary business policies intended to keep secret their workshops’ knowledge and techniques.

Early in the 1910s, several printers experimenting with photo-reactive chemicals used the well-known actinic light activated cross linking or hardening traits of potassium, sodium or ammonium bichromate chemicals with glues and gelatin compounds. Roy Beck, Charles Peter and Edward Owens studied and experimented with chromic acid salt sensitized emulsions for photo-reactive stencils. This trio of developers would prove to revolutionize the commercial screen printing industry by introducing photo-imaged stencils to the industry, though the acceptance of this method would take many years. Commercial screen printing now uses sensitizers far safer and less toxic than bichromates, currently there are large selections of pre-sensitized and "user mixed" sensitized emulsion chemicals for creating photo-reactive stencils.

Originally a profitable industrial technology, screen printing was eventually adopted by artists as an expressive and conveniently repeatable medium for duplication well before the 1900s. It is currently popular both in fine arts and in commercial printing, where it is commonly used to print images on T-shirts, hats, CDs, DVDs, ceramics, glass, polyethylene, polypropylene, paper, metals, and wood.

A group of artists who later formed the National Serigraphic Society coined the word Serigraphy in the 1930s to differentiate the artistic application of screen printing from the industrial use of the process. "Serigraphy" is a combination word from the Latin word "Seri" (silk) and the Greek word "graphein" (to write or draw).

In resent history, credit is generally given to the artist Andy Warhol for popularizing screen printing identified as serigraphy, in the United States. Warhol is particularly identified with his 1962 depiction of actress Marilyn Monroe screen printed in garish colors.

American entrepreneur, artist and inventor Michael Vasilantone would develop and patent a rotary multicolor garment screen printing machine in 1960. The original rotary machine was manufactured to print logos and team information on bowling garments but soon directed to the new fad of printing on t-shirts. The Vasilantone patent was soon licensed by multiple manufacturers, the resulting production and boom in printed t-shirts made the rotary garment screen printing machine the most popular device for screen printing in the industry. Screen printing on garments currently accounts for over half of the screen printing activity in the United States.

Graphic screenprinting is widely used today to create many mass or large batch produced graphics, such as posters or display stands. Full color prints can be created by printing in CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow and black (’key’)). Screenprinting is often preferred over other processes such as dye sublimation or inkjet printing because of its low cost and ability to print on many types of media.

Things to Avoid When Designing for Poster Printing

The creative process is very interesting and mysterious. Artful design ideas for poster printing can come and go like the wind. It is very important to keep those creative juices flowing especially if you are a professional designer for color posters. Custom poster printing can really task the mind, especially if you are forced to create design after design everyday. Some designers can form pretty bad habits as they standardize and use shortcuts just to keep up with output. If you are one of these designers try and avoid such an event. We have compiled a list of several bad activities some designers commit when assigned a custom poster printing task. Just look below and see if you have committed any of them.

Avoid repetitive video games: Part of a creative lifestyle are the vices. We know. Some need coffee, others smoke cigarettes and some play video games. Playing PC or console games have been known to stunt creativity for hours. In fact some studies have shown that even just a few hours of gaming can kill your creativity for almost the whole day. Of course not all kinds of games do this. However, the key here is that repetitive video games slowly set the mind to its rules. After playing the game, the mind still has an unconscious remembrance of those repetitive rules. Hence when you turn your mind into a creative task like color poster printing your mind maybe stuck using video game logic for a time. That would not bode well for any creative activity.

How to avoid this? Simply do not play video games before any creative task like designing color posters. Do it after as a reward for a job well done. Not only will this help you in designing your custom posters, but it will also foster a good habit.

Do not work in too much comfort: Some people, when they comfortable with work start pampering themselves with their surroundings. Their workstations become a home away from home. Do not get us wrong here, that is a good idea actually. However, some people can get too comfortable with their surroundings. You may have a favorite pillow on your chair. Food maybe oozing from your drawers and almost literally growing in your table. You may dine on designer donuts while you talk to your printing company about lowering their poster prices. Bach and Mozart’s enchanting music may be spouting from a trusty music player. These and many other activities may help you relax, but too much of it can be a bad thing.

Try minimizing some of these things so that you do not get too distracted. Pillows can be a temptation to sleep. Depending on the music, you may either be inspired, or you may be too caught up in the lyrics for any judicious poster printing work. Remove a few of these perks to lessen their hold on your attention. Designing is still work after all.

Refrain from dwelling on other people’s posters: Looking at the competition is of course important. Some designers though fall into the trap of looking to much on other people’s work. This causes them to subtly copy a style or method unconsciously. This completely prevents any kind of original thought. Once you have the overall idea of how other people are doing their custom posters break off and design your own. Be your own designer.

Great! Hopefully this gave you the idea of a few bad habits designers can acquire when creating designs for poster printing. There are a lot of other bad habits out there, so try and be observant of yourself and avoid them. Good luck with designing!
