People buy the image, not the product. I worked in a live music club for 10 years, and people were always trying to get us to stock their new crap. We would never pay for a new product, but if someone wanted to give us a bunch we'd take it. And anything new NEVER sold. Seriously- if people don't know what it is, you can't even give it away. We'd wind up with cases of this crap (especially energy drinks) just taking up space. Remember- when you ask a store to stock it, it means less room for something else that already sells better than what you've got. I don't mean to sound too harsh, but marketing is everything, no matter how good the product.
