Problem creating labels in Word 2007?

I am trying to create labels in Word 2007 but I still can’t do them. I have typed in the correct measurements for them 64mm x 34mm and have adjusted the margins to the correct size, but everytime I try and do a test print and they don’t print on the label properly. Can someone help me, it’s doing my head in now. The make of my labels are’nt in the drop down list so I have created a custom one. Please help.

Sounds like you are making your own labels on a Word blank page.

You need to use the Envelopes and Labels option in the TOOL menu. Click the Label tab and you are shown in bottom right the label in use at the time, 1st one in the list I expect.

Click the OPTIONS button on the right and a whole list of different label sizes appears. As you scroll down and click on them you see the sizes displayed as well.

The easiest way for you to make your size labels is to click NEW LABEL at bottom. This lets you creats a custom label where you can give it a name and how many you want on a page.
When you have done that click OK on the screens until you reach the first one and type what you want to appear in the box.

Then click whether you want a full page or a single label printed and there you go :)

PS … Think I found the problem. Check the Page size as you make the labels.
When i tried it the page size was set to something other than A4 size (in europe) reset it to the size your paper is and all should be well.
You won’t get any borders though as it expects them to be on peel off labels …..

You need a label making kit + software. Plenty of places sell them.

  • DEREK C:

    The example I give is for 7×3 = 21 labels on A4
Please use the same procedure but use your own requirements

Go….. Mailings then Labels left top tool bar.
    Select Labels tab
Select, full page of the same label
    Options…..: Page printer; Rear tray; other/ custom; L7418; Details…
    Now adjust
    Top margin 1.6cm
    Side Margin 0.8cm
    Vertical Pitch 3.8cm
    Page Size A4 (21×29.7cm)
    Label Height 3.8cm
    Label Width 6.4
    Number across 3
    Number Down 7
    Okay

So if you follow that you’ll see how it all works and can adjust to your requirements…good luck
